What does the entry fee cover?
EVLax is a
non-profit
organization. The entry fee covers cost
to rent the indoor facility for nine weeks, team jerseys, and payment
of the
referees and scorekeeper. The entry fee
also covers indirect costs including but not limited to EVLax
website, statistics website, and other administrative costs.

What type of equipment
will I need?
Full field
lacrosse gear
(stick, lacrosse helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, and gloves; a cup
is
strongly recommended) is required to participate in EVLax.
3.
What is the playing
surface and what type of footwear is required?
The playing
surface is a
sport court surface. Basketball shoes
are recommended but any standard gym/tennis shoe will work. Cleats are not permitted.
4.
What happens if I need
to miss a day due to vacation or other appointment?
There is no penalty for missing a few games during the season.
5.
Do I have to be a
member of US Lacrosse prior to participating in the EVLax
summer league?
Yes, you must
be a member of
US Lacrosse in good standing prior to participating in the EVLax
Summer League. For more information on
US Lacrosse membership please visit the US Lacrosse website at
www.lacrosse.org.
6.
How long is the
season? How many games are there?
Each team is guaranteed 8 regular season games plus one tournament game.
7.
What is the
registration deadline?
The deadline is
technically
July 1st. However we highly recommend
that you register ASAP as space is limited and expected to fill up
early. Once space is filled you will be
put on a
waiting list. There is a $20 late fee after June 21.
8.
Are defensemen going
to be playing with long-sticks in indoor lacrosse?
No, short
sticks only. Field lacrosse defenseman can
improve greatly
by playing defense with a short stick and the stick skills acquired
from
playing an active role in the offense will translate back to your
long-stick.
9.
Is the EVLax summer league playing
by standard box lacrosse rules?
No, the rules
for the EVLax Summer Indoor League are a
hybrid of field and box
rules. Notable differences are: There is no cross-checking allowed, no
hitting into or around the boards is permitted, no moving screens are
permitted, and there is no face-off after goals (the scored upon team
puts the
ball back into play after the goal is acknowledged by the referee.
10. Can I organize a team
and sign up to play together?
No, EVLax
is organized to give players the opportunity to meet and play with
players from
around the valley as well as make the teams as competitive as possible. For carpool reasons EVLax
permitting groups of four to sign up together and in turn play on the
same
team. Just list the names of the players
you wish to play with on your registration.
